What about a slow leak?
Tough situation here. A slow leak that remains undetected for a period of time, may not be covered by your insurance. They will want to call it "wear and tear". Case Study: A client of ours owns a rental condo and the tenants discovered saturation in the wood floors near the kitchen sink. We reported the claim and arranged for an inspection company and restoration company to come out and have a look. We were on site as we always are with our clients claims. The investigation revealed that there was a plumbing leak. Initially, the insurance company wanted to dismantle and refurbish the cabinets, then reinstall. This proved not to be practical, and an entire kitchen cabinet system was afforded. In addition to the kitchen cabinets, the floors throughout the unit were replaced because they were contiguous throughout.
